Eagle Creek Flood Gate
Challenge
Eagle Creek Renewable Energy called RBS with an urgent situation. The Beloit flood gate on the Rock River dam would not open.
The RBS team met the customer on-location to extract two ball screw assemblies and assess potential options to get the flood gate back in operation. Upon initial inspection, the screw was aggressively worn and covered with debris. The ball nut had failed, which locked the flood gate in place, making it inoperable.
Solution
Acting with urgency, the RBS service and repair team determined the assembly was salvageable. The screws were refurbished and the ball nuts rebuilt - and delivered back to the customer for installation within 48 hours. This was a big win for the RBS team and an operational emergency overcome for Eagle Creek.
