Outside Sales Representatives
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, and expand the customer base and achieve sales goals within Rockford Linear Motion and Rockford Ball Screw Industries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Research markets, identify opportunities, and monitor business market conditions in relation to competitor’s sales performance to improve internal sales performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships by communicating with customers (existing) and leads (potential).
- Maintain and manage sales pipeline, leads, and opportunities in Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Create and submit monthly sales reports to management.
- Work closely with inside sales team member(s) to gain sales.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain departments as needed.
- Meet sales goals by following up on quoted opportunities, cross-selling, and closing deals.
- Recognize customers’ needs and/or assist customers through product issues by implementing solutions or providing technical support.
- Attend and exhibit at trade shows within the assigned territory, supporting other territories as needed.
- Travel at least 50% of the time within the assigned territory to represent the company on customer visits to achieve designated sales goals.
- Create and submit travel reports such as trip approvals and expenses.
- Create and maintain a sales budget for assigned territory.
- Train new employees in areas of customer service, sales department process and policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive work environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent skills and experience is required.
Experience:
- 3 years outside sales experience is required with direct account management.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (machining, cost estimating, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of MAPICS software is preferred
